Maidstone Small Boats Head was back on the 5th March with Gravesend entering 11 crews throughout the event. We welcomed a lot of new racers including a whole boat of novices to make their racing debut, all of whom smashed it down the 2500m course.
A few key highlights:
- Our W4x+ putting in a strong performance of 10.32.2 after rowing over 20km the day before at Women’s Head of the River Race
- Our youngest and newest juniors at WJ14 finishing their first ever race in a time of 13.36.3
- Some fantastic masters rowing from Bradley in a time of 11.37.7, only just being beaten by our 2021 golden wellies winner, Dan, who finished (dry) in a time of 11.31.6
Our biggest shout out of the day however goes to our WJ16 4x+ crew of Kathryn, Keeva, Melisa and Matilda (and cox Mia) who won their category in a time of 10.38.1 – well done!
A huge thank you to all those at Maidstone for hosting a well organised event. Look out for us next at Lea Spring Regatta on Sunday 23rd April!
