We took two adult crews to Greenwich Head on the 12th February for a 5000m race. With mild weather, and near almost perfect conditions it was great to see this race back after a few years of cancellations due to bad weather and Covid. We had some new challenges to negotiate this year including the passing Clipper UBER and commercial river traffic making for some thrilling wash around the many bends and corners.
Our Op4+ crew placed 4th with a time of 17m 37.2s
Our second crew of W8+ however had an unfortunate day. After unloading, putting the 8 together and rigging the boat, we discovered that all 8 seats had been left behind at Gravesend. Instead, they took the short walk into Greenwich and cheered on the men.
